New Years isn’t typically a holiday all about kiddo activities, and to be honest a lot of parents are still recovering from the Christmas festivities. But this simple balloon clock is an easy way to make kids a part of the fun, whether you use it as a countdown, have them shift the hands of the clock, or let them pop the balloon on each hour! It works for a ‘NOON’ Year’s Eve too!
All you really need for this craft are 12 balloons. I used a foam board backdrop, but really you could stick this on the wall and kids would have just as much fun with it! If you want to use it as a decoration though follow the steps below!

Supplies for your Balloon Clock
- Balloons (I used 5 inch white ones)
- Cardstock paper or stickers (if using cardstock grab our number template!)
- Scotch Tape
- Scissors
- Foam Board- I used two pieces of black foam board
- Glitter cardstock to make arrows
Steps for Your NYE Balloon Clock

First, blow up 12 balloons. Using a sharpie, vinyl or cardstock add each number of the clock. I cut out numbers using our printable numbers template but you can write them on or use stickers if you have them!

Cut out arms for your clock, then start taping the balloons in a circle shape. I did pop one balloon when I misplaced it, but one tip is to start by placing your 12, 3, 6 and 9 and filling in the circle shape from there.

Tape on the arms of the clock, I made mine for 11 o’clock, just to show it in it’s final countdown state.
Tips for Making a Clock:
- It would be fun to use bigger balloons and add a piece of candy like a hershey kiss to each balloon! Then let the kiddos take turn popping one leading up to the noon or midnight hour.
- Make a game of counting down each hour and let kids take turns popping the balloons. You could also take them off the board and add them to a balloon drop!
