Christmas crafts can be a fun activity or gift for kids to work on. This angel template is a great way to make something as a special keepsake. It works great as a coloring page or activity, or turn it into your very own tree topper.

Below you will find a pdf file you can download to print. We’ve included two options for angels, one with and without wings. These would make a great paint project too. Depending on their age, kids will be able to help decorate, color or cut and glue this angel to make their very own version.

Angel Tree Topper Craft

Ready to make your angel tree topper? Follow these steps!

Supplies Needed

  • Angel template- available below
  • Cardstock in colors of your choice, you could also use felt or crayons. I used cream and glitter cardstock.
  • Tape
  • School glue
  • Scissors (age appropriate or with supervision)

Steps to Assembling Your Tree Topper

  1. Print out your template(s).
  2. Cut out the angel robe and wings. Trace onto paper in the color of your choice. I used cream for the robe and gold glitter paper for the wings.
  3. Next trace the individual pieces you want to glue on, like the face, hair, halo, hands and robe details. I cut out the arms separately and glued on to add some dimension.
  4. As an alternative, you can trace one outline on cardstock paper and use paint, crayons or markers to add the details.
  5. Cut out a half circle from cardstock and roll into a cone shape. Tape to the back of the angel to turn your template into a tree topper.

More Ideas to Try

  • Use this template as an angel coloring page.
  • Keep the template flat and use it to top a felt Christmas tree on the wall.
  • Have each child in the class make an angel and assemble an entire heavenly host on a bulletin board.
