Candy Cane Craft
Ready to make your cut out candy canes? Follow these steps!
Supplies Needed
- Candy Cane template
- Red, pink or white cardstock, or paper in color of choice (assorted paper pack)
- school glue
- scissors
- markers or crayons
Steps to Assembling Your Candy Cane
- Print out your template(s).
- Cut out the candy cane(s) and trace onto white or red paper.
- Next, cut out as many candy canes as you are wanting to make. One tip I have is to put a cut out candy cane on top of 3-4 pieces of paper and use it as a guide to cut out several at once.
- Cut out your stripes. One way to do this is to cut out a marked template, lay it on top of 1-2 blank candy canes and cut out the stripes. Then you can pair them up to glue on. Alternatively you can eye ball it or draw on the stripes.
- As an alternative, you can trace one outline onto paper and use paint or markers to add the details.
More Ideas to Try
- Use this template as a candy cane coloring page.
- Make several small candy canes and string them with yarn or ribbon to create a garland.
- Use any of the candy canes as name tags or to mark desks, cubbies or even as tags on presents.
- Use a small candy cane attached to an envelope to enclose a gift of appreciation for your child’s teacher or bus driver.
- Make different colors of candy canes and pair them with matching candy ones as a fun treat for friends!
