blue, white, or yellow construction paper or card stock
yarn or twine for garland hanging
dreidel template
Instructions
Print out your dreidel template and cut out your shapes to trace (you can also print right onto colored paper if it’s an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper and just cut them).
Trace your shapes onto your desired color paper as many times as you want and then cut out your dreidel and star shapes—fold your paper in half before tracing if you want to cut two shapes at once!
Glue your stars onto your dreidels with a glue stick or school glue.
Use a hole punch to punch a hole at the top of each dreidel stem (or use scissors to cut a small slit for the yarn to go through) and thread some yarn or twine through the holes. You can wrap a piece of tape around the threading end to make it like the stiff end of a shoelace for easier threading through the holes.
Hang up your dreidel garland and you’re ready to celebrate!
Notes
Tips for Making Your Dreidel Garland:
If using yarn for your hanging thread, wrap a piece of tape around the threading end to make it like the stiff end of a shoelace for easier threading through the holes.
Smaller kids can help draw or paint on the dreidels before threading them on.
When cutting out your colored paper, fold your paper in half before tracing and you’ll get two shapes per cut to save time!
