Whether you’re planning to carve (or decorate your pumpkin another way like with paint!) actual pumpkins, this craft is a quick and easy craft that can be done indoors and used as a fun way to plan out your pumpkin design too.

What you’ll need to make it

1. Construction paper or cardstock in orange and black (or green, purple, pink, etc!)
2. Pumpkin cutouts (similar to what’s shown here) or use one of our pumpkin templates
3. Paint
4. Glue stick
5. Scissors (if your child is old enough. If not, you can pre-cut the shapes for the face details.)

How to Make Your Jack-O-Lantern Craft

• Cut out your pumpkin shape.
• Let kids paint the base of the pumpkin. You can also use crayons if they prefer coloring. If painting, leave time to dry. (These kwik sticks are a fun option for preschoolers, they dry in 90 seconds!)
• Glue on your face pieces using your glue stick.
