Using a dinosaur coloring page or cutout is a fun way to teach children of all ages about these amazing prehistoric creatures. If you’re using it with a toddler it’s the perfect craft to pair with ‘digging’ for fossils, or other dinosaur-themed games. As a preschool or kindergarten craft they can do more of the cutting and coloring with you, or trace the outlines themselves.

Supplies Needed

Dinosaur Template download (this is the full set, individual templates are below)
Construction paper in colors of choice (assorted paper pack)
school glue
scissors

Steps to Assembling Your Dinosaurs

Print out your template(s).
Cut out the dinos and trace them onto construction paper.
Finally, cut out the dinosaur shapes from the construction paper and decorate.
Another idea would be to trace one outline on paper and use paint or markers to add the details.

More Ideas to Try

Use this template as a coloring sheet.
Another way to use them is to print out the dinosaur shapes and use the paper as a painting game or guide.
Use the small dinosaurs sheet as name tags or to mark desks or cubbies. This could be especially fun if you’re doing a themed week or activity.
