Rainbow Printable
Using a rainbow printable is a fun way to teach children of all ages about different colors, how rainbows are formed, or fun traditions around holidays like looking for a pot of gold. If you’re using it with a toddler it’s the perfect craft for teaching the order of the colors of the rainbow. As a preschool or kindergarten craft they can do more of the cutting and coloring with you. You can also cut the individual arches of the rainbow out so that kids can practice putting it together on their own.

Supplies Needed
- Rainbow Template download- individual pieces and full set below
- construction paper in colors of choice (assorted paper pack, or this cardstock pack)
- school glue
- scissors
- Miscellaneous crafting items like glitter, pom poms, pipe cleaners, anything kids can use to create a colorful rainbow. I like this kit!
Steps to Assembling Your Rainbow
- Print out your template(s).
- Cut out the rainbow arches in each associated color.
- Next trace and cut out the clouds.
- Layer out your rainbow and add glue to the back of your clouds shapes. Glue the arches onto the clouds.
More Ideas to Try
- Use this template as a rainbow coloring page. I added glitter to the clouds to make it a bit more fun.
- Glue white pom poms or cotton balls onto the clouds to make them ‘fluffy’
- Print out and use the paper as a painting game or guide.
- Use fruit loops or colored cereal and glue onto the paper. This idea is probably best for older kids who won’t be tempted to eat the cereal when it’s an art supply.
