Recycling or Trash Truck Printable
Using a printable is a fun way to teach children of all ages about garbage and recycling trucks. We love the book Trashy Town and this is the perfect craft to go along with a storytime featuring that book! We also have liked the show Stinky and Dirty– which features several different vehicles too!
As a preschool or kindergarten craft kids can do more of the cutting and coloring with you, just make sure if they’re cutting or glueing they’re doing so in an age-appropriate way. You can also print out multiple pages of the parts of the truck and use it as an opportunity to learn about how the trucks work.
Trash Truck Craft
Ready to make your cut out trash truck? Follow these steps!
Supplies Needed
- Trash Truck Template download
- scissors (with adult supervision as needed)
- Construction paper or cardstock (variety pack)
- Gluestick or school glue
Steps to Assembling Your Truck
- Print out your template(s).
- Cut out the trash truck and trace it onto paper. You can also print the pieces right onto your cardstock or construction paper. (Printer will be able to handle thinner paper, so if using cardstock I recommend printing and tracing.)
- Next trace any of the individual pieces you want to glue on like wheels or windows.
- As an alternative, you can trace one outline onto your construction paper paper and use paint or markers to add the details.
