Mask Craft

Ready to make your cut out masks? Follow these steps! You may want to size the mask to your toddler or child, so before cutting the eye holes measure where their face will fit. Preschoolers and older kids can do more of the cutting, creating and coloring with you, while toddlers may just want to color or pick what colors of paper are used.

Supplies Needed

Mask template
Cardstock paper in a variety of colors (assorted pack)
school glue
scissors
Stickers, feathers, glitter glue, sequins or other miscellaneous craft supplies to decorate your masks. You can also just use markers and crayons!
String or yarn to tie the mask around your child’s head to hold it on. I used a hole punch for this part too!

Steps to Assembling Your Lion Mask

Print out your template(s).
Cut out the mask of choice and trace onto cardstock paper.
Cut out the eye holes from your template, trace and cut them out of the base of your mask.
As an alternative, you can trace one outline on yellow paper and use paint or markers to add the details.
Add two holes with a hole punch or just with scissors, add string or yarn and tie it securely so a child can wear a mask while playing.

Use each mask when talking about a different culture or event and then have kids make them for a celebration.
