Key Ingredients

**Full list of ingredients and measurements available at the bottom of the post in the recipe card.
- Glue- your choice! We used clear glue, rainbow glitter glue and regular school glue.
- Contact solution- make sure you use a type that has boric acid as an ingredient.
- Baking soda
- Large craft sticks to stir. You can use a spatula too but this simplified it for the kids and then they could go right into the trash!
Tips and Suggestions
- If you have multiple kids wanting to make slime and want to stretch a bottle of glitter glue, use half glitter glue and half clear glue to make your slime. Each small ‘batch’ uses a bottle of glue.
- Humidity/temps do impact slime. We made ours outside on a super humid day (July in the midwest of course) and had to add a bit more contact solution because it was drying out/stretching a bit more quickly than normal.
- We used one container and went one at a time when making this. The slime stuck to itself for clean up which really helps!
- Our red/pink glitter glue wasn’t as red as we wanted so I added a few drops of food coloring! You could also use clear glue, food coloring and glitter if you don’t have glitter glue.
Firework Slime

Step 1. Combine your glitter glue, contact solution and baking soda into your container. Stir to combine. Add in a bunch of glitter and sequins to create ‘fireworks’!
Once combined, remove from container and knead together so it’s not as sticky. Then it’s ready to stretch, pull and play with!

Clear Glitter Firework Slime

Step 1. Combine your glitter glue, contact solution and baking soda into your container. Stir to combine.
Once combined, remove from container and knead together so it’s not as sticky. Then it’s ready to stretch, pull and play with!

Ingredients
Ingredients Per Color/Batch of Slime
- 6 oz school glue, glitter glue or clear glue. (Some bottles come in a 4 or 5 oz size. If using one of those I just use the bottle of glue and add a bit of clear if needed/I have it on hand.)
- ½ tsp baking soda
- 1½ tbsp contact solution (use a brand that includes boric acid)
- optional add-ins like glitter, food coloring or sequins
- 2 cups shaving cream (if making fluffy slime)

Instructions
Classic Slime
- Add your glue, contact solution and baking soda to a bowl.
- Stir to combine- we used larger popsicle or craft sticks and they worked great!
- After the ingredients are sticking together, remove from bowl or container and knead to reach that slimey consistency. It should pull itself off your hands.
- If it's too dry add a bit more contact solution- but very slowly so it doesn't get too greasy. Humidity/temps will impact this recipe.
Fluffy Slime
- Add your glue, contact solution and baking soda to a bowl.
- Add your shaving cream to the bowl. Stir to combine- we used larger popsicle or craft sticks and they worked great!
- After the ingredients are sticking together, remove from bowl or container and knead to reach that slimey consistency. It should pull itself off your hands.
