How to Make a Handprint Witch:

  1. Start by painting your child’s hand green and stamping it on a piece of white paper. If your child is old enough, they can also help with this craft by painting their own hand.
  2. After the handprint has fully dried, draw hair, eyes and a mouth to create a witch with a marker.
  3. Cut a witch hat from black paper and glue it on to complete your project. Spooky!

Tips:

  • This project takes about 10 minutes plus dry time for the handprint. While it dries, read a Halloween-themed book or start another witch project with paint! You can use our printable witch template as a fun coloring or paint activity too!
  • Use yarn or other construction paper for the hair, or add googly eyes instead of drawing them.
  • To get a strong handprint impression, press down on each individual finger before pulling the hand up.
  • You can make other monster characters like Frankenstein with green paint, too.
  • For best results, avoid pastel green and use neon or a darker shade of acrylic paint.
  • Keep a wet wipe handy for cleanup!
